The Data Governance Lead develops and implements policies and stewardship models to support federated governance and data mesh maturation, ensuring compliance with DoD and DHA standards.

*This role is based in Falls Church, VA with possible telework.

Responsibilities:

· Lead governance pilots and produce deliverables (e.g., Governance Pilot Report, Federated Governance Playbook).

· Define metadata standards and lifecycle processes.

· Experience with data discovery, cataloging, and metadata management.

· Ensure alignment with HIPAA/FISMA compliance and DoD VAULTIS goals.

· Coordinate stakeholder feedback for policy enforcement.

What We Look for:

· Extensive experience in data governance, data management, and enterprise data strategy.

· Proficiency with Data Mesh core principles and implementation in large organizations.

· Strong understanding of DoD data security and compliance requirements.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Active DoD Secret Clearance

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information systems, or a related field

Great if You Have:

· Experience supporting the DoD or other federal agencies in a data-centric role.

· Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Alation, or similar data governance platforms.

· A Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

· Knowledge of DHA’s data mesh and Advana.

· Expertise in DAMA-DMBOK frameworks.
